Who we are
Dabalee is a rooms-and-jobs board for Australia, in English, Nepali and Hindi. To reach us, use the Contact link at the bottom of every page.
What we collect
When you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address and profile photo. We use these to create your account and show your name to people you message.
When you post a listing we store the listing, its photos and your poster profile. If you choose to verify, we store the phone number, ABN or photo ID you give us, and the result of the check.
When you message a poster we store the message and the reply. We also keep the language you choose, the listings and searches you save, and a push subscription if you turn notifications on.
How we use it
To show listings, deliver messages and replies by email and push, send new matches for your saved searches, show verification badges, and keep the site safe by acting on reports.
We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who sees what
Anyone can see a listing, including its suburb, photos, and the poster's display name, business name and badges. Your email address and phone number are never shown on a listing.
A poster you message sees your first name and your message. People who open a listing you shared to WhatsApp see the share card, not your account.
Services we rely on
Google Firebase handles sign-in. Google Cloud hosts the site and stores photos. Sentry receives error reports that may include your account ID. Share cards opened in WhatsApp are handled by WhatsApp under its own privacy policy.
How long we keep it
Listings stay until you close or delete them, then for a short period in case of a report or dispute. Deleting your account removes your profile, listings, saved items and messages within 30 days, except where the law says we must keep a record.
Your rights
You can see, correct or delete your information from Profile and settings, or by emailing us. The Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) applies. If you are not happy with how we handled a complaint, you can take it to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Changes to this policy
We will post changes here and update the date at the top. For changes that matter to how we use your information, we will email account holders first.
