About Dabalee
Dabalee is a free board for rooms and jobs across Australia, posted by people like you, in English, Nepali and Hindi. Anyone can browse; signing in with Google lets you save listings, message posters and post your own.
What Dabalee is
A place to find a room for rent or a job, or to offer one. Rooms list the rent per week, bond, bills, room type, whether it is furnished, the minimum stay, the kitchen and who it suits. Jobs list the pay and its basis, hours a week, work rights and English level, and show the pay next to the national minimum wage.
Where it works
Across Australia. Every listing has a real suburb, state and postcode chosen from the official list, and each suburb with listings has its own page, such as /rooms/in/auburn for Auburn NSW.
Languages
English, Nepali and Hindi. Your first visit follows your browser's language; the globe menu switches, and your choice is kept, also for the emails we send. Each listing shows the language it is written in.
Browsing needs no sign-in
You can open any listing without an account. Signing in with Google, with no password, lets you save listings, get new matches by email, message posters and post rooms and jobs.
Verification badges
Posters can verify a phone number with an SMS code, an ABN (checked by an admin against the Australian Business Register) and a photo ID (checked by an admin). Each adds a badge to their listings, and "Verified posters only" filters on them. A badge means that one check passed, nothing more: we do not inspect rooms or workplaces.
